Chapter 1

Diagon Alley

"Ariah... come on sweetie... wake up." I groaned and flipped over in my bed. My mother sighed and mumbled, "Accio tray." I looked up to see my breakfast tray levitate into the room. Mum grabbed it from the air and set it on the nightstand next to me. "You have ten minutes." "Where are we going?" She smiled and said, "Diagon Alley." I smiled and said, "I'll be right down." She smiled and left the room, closing the door behind her.

I've been waiting to go to Diagon Alley for the whole summer. Mum doesn't allow me to go to Diagon Alley for anything other than school supplies, which I don't really mind. During the school year, I am loaded with way too much homework, and during the summer I am busy with my friends.

I ran downstairs to see my wand was missing from our elf-sculpted wand holder. "Mum, where's my wand?" I had that wand since I was a baby. Dad put a shield around the house so I could do magic without any detection. He felt it was important for me to "get a head start on magic", which I don't mind in the least. Mum looked up from her book and said, "Didn't I tell you? Your father sent it into the shop. Apparently, he mixed up your wand with his. He tried a spell and it bust into flames. If we can't fix it, we can surely get you a new wand." I sighed and said, "Okay, but can we go to Diagon Alley now?" She smiled and said, "I will meet you there. I'm almost done with this chapter. The muggle is about to find out her boyfriend is immortal. It's so intriguing! You should read it!" Without responding, I left. I don't know how my mother can read those insipid muggle books. There is a bookshop down the street from us that sells all sorts of muggle books. I choose to never go in there. Muggle literature is such a poor waste of time.

I disapperated into the Leaky Cauldron, then made my way into the alley. I went down to Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment. Mr. Wiseacre always had my supplies list ready for me, because the school always sent it straight to his shop. I walked in and he said, "Miss Anslot! So wonderful to see you again! Are you in need of your supplies list?" I nodded and he said, "Wonderful! Would you mind reminding me of your school? My memory isn't what it used to be!" I chuckled and said, "Beauxbatons Academy of Magic." "Oh of course!" He looked through his papers and grunted. "Is there a problem Mr. Wiseacre?" He looked up at me and said, "You don't seem to have a supplies list at the Beauxbatons Academy." I gasped lightly and said, "Sir, there must be some kind of mistake..." He twirled his beard between his fingers, thoughtfully, then said, "Let me see if you're in the system... Accio scroll." A scroll floated into the room. He opened it and said, "Ah! Here's your name! Miss Ariah Anslot! How strange... It says you're enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry..." "There must be a mistake!" Suddenly, my mother appirated into the room. "Sorry I'm late. Mr Wiseacre! How good to see you!" "And you, Mrs. Anslot." "Mum, why am I not on the Beauxbatons supplies list?" She suddenly turned pale. "I am so sorry... Mr. Wiseacre, I'm sorry for bothering you. Thanks for your time." She put her hand on my shoulder and led me out.

Once out in the street I said, "Mum, what's happening?" She plastered a fake smile on her face and said, "We transferred you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!" "WHAT?! Why?! I love Beauxbatons!" "I know, but your father and I felt your education would be enhanced at Hogwarts!" "But..." "No buts. Now, I will go get your robes and you get your wand and books. If you need more money, feel free to go to Gringott's. I will meet you infront of the Leaky Cauldron in an hour." She disappareted before I could attempt to object again. I decided to go to Ollivander's Wand shop first.

I opened the door, and the first thing I heard was a "WATCH OUT!" I ducked and looked behind me to see a glass vase hurling out towards the street. I turned back around and saw Mr. Ollivander staring at the street in awe. He looked at a boy who was standing in front of him ad said, "You need a new wand." The boy said, exasperated, "I just old you that!" Ollivander sighed and said, "I'll go back and find your kind. What did you say it was?" "14'' willow with unicorn hair core." Ollivander nodded and went back to his shelves. I walked up to the desk and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Ollivander?" He popped his head out and said, "Yes dear?" "Do you have a wand for me? I'm Ariah Anslot. My father sent it in for a repair." He came up to the desk with a box. He handed the box to the boy and said to me, "I do. But I'm sorry to say it is beyond repair. A wand with that much damage can't be fixed." I sighed and said, "Can I get a new one?" He nodded and said, "In a moment. As soon as I'm done with this boy."

Needless to say, I as a little nervous. I haven't gotten a new wand my entire life. The boy looked at me and said, "No Ollivander, it's okay. Let her go first." I smiled and said, "Thanks..." He put his hand out and said, "Ron Weasley." I took his hand and said, "Ariah Anslot." Ollivander said, sounding a tad annoyed, "Now that we are all acquainted, Mr. Weasley, could you please try your wand to see if it will work for you?" Ron nodded and said, pointing to a quil, "Accio quil." The quil zoomed across the room into Ron's awaiting hand. Ollivander said, "Perfect! If you could please wait over there so I can ring you up. Now Miss. Anslot, did you say? Have you ever gotten a wand before?" I noticed Ron standing behind me, which made me feel a tad uncomfortable, but I continued, and said, "Yes, but I don't recall what it was." He sighed and said, "I guess we will go through and try each one..." He gently pulled out a box, and when he blew on the top a billowing cloud of dust came off of it. He came around to me and said, "14 inch oak with basilisk blood core. Now try casting a spell." I pointed to a book on the shelf and said, "Engorgio!" The spell, which was supposed to enlarge the book, set the book on fire. Ollivander waved the fire out and said, grabbing another box, with a glance at Ron, "Try this."

As soon as I touched it, I felt a shiver throughout me. I pointed to the air and said, "Avis!" A few larks flew out of the wand and out the open window. Ollivadner smiled and siad, "This is your wand. Peculiar, though. 14'' willow with unicorn hair core. It's very rare that two wizards of the same age have the same wand... and much rarer that they show up the same day... quite peculiar... only witches and wizards with strong bonds share a wand...Well then! Mr. Weasly, that will be 20 shillings, and the same for you Miss. Anslot." I took my coin pouch out and handed him my money, then headed for the door. Part of me wanted to go back to the talk to Ron... but the other part was saying, 'Hello! You don't even know him!' But it was so weird what Ollivander said... we MUSt have some type of connection.

I told myself that if we were meant to be, we would meet again.
